Heliae Agriculture Expands Canadian Footprint with Western Canadian Manager

Heliae® Agriculture announced today the expansion of their focus on regenerative agriculture in Canada with the engagement of Bruce McTavish as Western Canadian Manager. Soil health leader Heliae made its introduction in Canada in June 2020, leading with their unique PhycoTerra® microalgae-based product line.

“Since launching in Canada, we have experienced a strong uptake and interest from our channel partners and growers,” says Norm Davy, Chief Revenue Officer for Heliae® Agriculture. “This Western Canadian expansion led by Bruce McTavish will allow us to bring innovative technology like PhycoTerra® and PhycoTerra® Organic to more growers across the country.”

McTavish brings more than 30 years’ experience in agriculture and food sales and marketing for global leaders like BASF, Viterra, and most recently Stueve Canada. Based in Winnipeg and heavily embedded in Western Canadian agriculture, McTavish looks forward to connecting more Canadian growers with the soil health solutions offered by Heliae.

“I have admired the work Heliae does in regenerative agriculture and soil health focused on improving the soil microbiome” said McTavish. “I look forward to further developing our Western Canadian distribution network to bring solutions to growers with the potential to improve their soil health for generations.”

McTavish holds diplomas in agriculture and business administration from the University of Manitoba and Red River College. He has been actively involved in the Canadian Association of Agricultural Retailers, Crop Life Canada and Canola Council of Canada.
